Class Summary

AddRepresentation	Adds a feature class representation to a geodatabase feature class.
AlignMarkerToStrokeOrFill	Align the representation marker symbols of a point feature class to the nearest stroke or fill representation symbols in a line or polygon feature class within a specified search distance.
CalculateGeodesicAngle	Calculates geodesic angles for the input features according to the defined coordinate system, and assigns the angle values to the specified field in the feature class that contains the input features.
CalculateLineCaps	Calculates the cap type (ending style) for double-line symbols in the input representations.
CalculatePolygonMainAngle	Calculates the main angles of the input polygon features and assigns the angle values to the specified field in the feature class that contains the polygon features.
CalculateRepresentationRule	Applies existing representation rules to features in a feature class representation by calculating the RuleID field.

Cartography geoprocessing tools have a different purpose than most other ArcGIS geoprocessing tools. The tools in the Cartography toolbox are designed to produce data and support map production for specific maps in a way that meets a specific cartographic standard. Geographic information system (GIS) data is the basis for multiple projects and operations in any organization that uses GIS. Cartographic data may be derived from the GIS data for each specific use or map. Cartographic tools also address the fact that text is a vital part of the data model and must be considered in a spatial context.
