Convert Part To Feature


This samples converts a selected part to its own feature. For example, if a feature has ten parts, a particular part can be removed from the original feature and turned into its own feature.

How to use:
  1. Browse and select the ConvertPartToFeature.dll using the 'Add From File' button on the customization dialog.
  2. From the 'Developer Samples' commands category, add the 'Convert Part to Feature' command to the Edit Sketch context menu (Sketch menu).
  3. Add at least one layer and start an edit session.
  4. Double-click on one feature to bring it into the edit sketch.
  5. Right-click on the desired part, this flags the part for conversion and brings up the edit sketch contex menu.
  6. Select the 'Convert Part to Feature' command.
  7. The part is removed from the original feature and a new feature is created in the same feature class.
  8. If desired, this new feature can now be merged with other features in which case it will become a new part on another feature.
